Mariah Norris joined the Editing Council & became SSP’s second Cover Designer in February 2022.
She is a fantasy writer, artist, and symphonic metal enthusiast from the balmy Florida coast, where she lives with her husband, son, and three cats. When she isn’t writing, you’ll find her drawing portraits and fan art, dabbling in anything from gardening to candle making, or spending far too much time consuming fanfiction.

Courtney Collins joined the editing council in October 2023.
She grew up two doors down from the local library and crushed every summer reading challenge. She's worked in libraries and bookstores before deviating into a higher education career by day and a burlesque dancer by night. She's published extensively in her local town newspaper. Her own queerness and mother-loss influence the fantasy world created alongside her husband. Courtney and Clarke live in central Vermont with their children and an abundance of forests, her happy place.

Jade Black is a writer, artist, composer and game designer. She likes to try her hand in as many of the darker genres as possible, but spends most of her time writing thrillers and composing world jazz fusion. She is probably best known for her compendium The Determined Ones. She is also the host of the Adventures Elsewhere Podcast.
When not quietly plotting to take over the world from her home in Yorkshire, Jade enjoys cooking, playing games and solving puzzles.

Erika McCorkle
Erika McCorkle (she/her), along with Valerie Storm, took charge of the SSP Twitter account in February 2022.
She is an avid world-builder and consumer of all things fantasy, whether that be books, video games, or anime. She has been developing the Pentagonal Dominion for 22 years and figured it was about damn time to publish her books. She has a Bachelors of Science in Biology and works as a laboratory technician on the graveyard shift at her local blood bank, which qualifies her as a vampire.

Valerie Storm
Valerie Storm, along with Erika McCorkle, took charge of the SSP Twitter account in February 2022.
She was raised in Tucson, Arizona. Growing up, she fell in love with everything fantasy. When she wasn’t playing video games, she was writing. By age ten, she began to write her own stories as a way to escape reality. When these stories became a full-length series, she considered the path to sharing with other children & children-at/heart looking for a place to call home.

Brittany Engstrand
Brittany Engstrand joined Erika and Val in managing the SSP Twitter account in October 2023.
Before she was a self-proclaimed master of escapism, Brittany grew up craving imaginary new worlds. Most of her teen years were spent secretly diving into any forbidden book or manga she could get her hands on, and thus, her love of books began. She soon created her own worlds, taking inspiration from dreams and wishes, which can be explored in her works. She primarily writes darker fiction, challenging herself to write from the most misunderstood depths of her mind.
When she’s not daydreaming, Brittany can be found doodling original character art, traipsing around Virginia Beach with her husband and three kids, or obsessing over her most recent temporary hyper-fixation.

M.A. Phillips
M. A. Phillips, along with Alyssa Lauseng, took charge of the SSP Instagram account in February 2022.
She lives in Northern NY with her husband, daughter, and three cats. She is a writer, English teacher, & practicing Druid. Some of her short stories have been published in Stone, Root, and Bone magazine. Her debut, River Magic, is an adult magical realism novel featuring a friends to lovers romance, contemporary Pagans, & a vengeful mermaid.

Alyssa Lauseng
Alyssa Lauseng, along with M.A. Phillips, took charge of the SSP Instagram account in February 2022.
She is a fantasy writer who lives in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula with her husband, two warrior princesses, & moose-dog. When not writing or momm-ing, she practices Kuk Sool Won, listens to metal, & tries to draw.
